With  sales on pace for a sizable increase over 2007, Coldwell Banker Lightbourn Realty has established a permanent presence in Spanish Wells, Eleuthera.
Lonnie Johnson, a certified diver and former commercial fishing boat owner, is Lightbourn Realty’s first resident agent on Spanish Wells. His appointment brings to four, the number of active agents in Eleuthera.

Mike Lightbourn, president of Coldwell Banker Lightbourn Realty, said this latest move is in keeping with his company’s pattern of growth and strong performance.

“We are on pace for a sizable sales increase over last year, along with our Coldwell Banker Island Affiliates in Aruba, Cayman Islands, Nevis and St. Thomas,” Lightbourn said.

The Coldwell Banker Jamaican, Turks and Caicos and St. Croix affiliates are experiencing their best year on record and Bermuda has had a fantastic year.

“We are very pleased with our performance year to date. As Jim Reed, CEO of Coldwell Banker Island Affiliates just pointed out, the majority of our Affiliates have found a way to work past the doom and gloom being played out in the international media and have even prospered,” Lightbourn said.

He said the company’s expansion to include a resident agent on Spanish Wells is part and parcel of the company’s planned expansion programme in the islands.

And he added that Johnson brings diverse skills to the table.

Born in Macon, Georgia, Johnson grew up in Dade County, Florida. He has lived in the Bahamas since marrying his Spanish Wells wife, Kristin, of over 27 years. He has been involved in the craw fishing industry as a certified diver and owner of commercial boats. With a love of architecture and keen sense of design, Johnson has helped design and draft plans for homes on Spanish Wells and the Eleuthera mainland, making him a natural in his new career.

“Lonnie is hard working and personable, and we are very pleased to have him on our team. We also are excited about the future of Eleuthera,” Lightbourn said.

Lightbourn Realty has grown from three agents operating out of rental premises on Bay Street in 2000 to a team of 22 sales associates with headquarters on Shirley Street. It has offices and reps in Abaco, Andros, Bimini, Berry Islands, Eleuthera, Exuma and Long Island. It's part of an international network of approximately 110,300 sales associates and 3600 brokers in 47 countries and territories (3,066 in the US). Additionally, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC has again been named the #1 Real Estate brand by Franchise Times, making this the 9th straight year.
